Rowan Pearce

Hello

I'm Rowan Pearce, a physiotherapist with over seven years' experience working with people all across the lifespan (children, adolescents to adults) with complex musculoskeletal, rheumatological and neurological conditions.

Pearce Health is where I bring that experience together - offering thoughtful, evidence-informed physiotherapy for people navigating persistent pain, functional neurological disorder (FND), connective tissue disorders (including hypermobility conditions and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes), rheumatology (including juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), and the many ways these conditions overlap and interact. I'm particularly drawn to working with people who have complex presentations and who may not have found the answers they were looking for elsewhere. This includes when people have additional diagnosis' such as ADHD and/or autism.

People often tell me that what stood out about their experience was feeling genuinely heard. I take time to understand not just what's going on in your body, but what's going on in your life - what matters to you, what's getting in the way, and what you've already tried. I adapt how I communicate to each individual, and I take pride in being able to explain complex clinical concepts in a way that actually makes sense, without talking down to anyone. For many of my patients, including those who are neurodivergent, the way care is delivered matters just as much as the care itself. I work hard to create interactions that feel safe, predictable and genuinely collaborative - where your input shapes the direction of your treatment, not the other way around.

My approach is grounded in the best available evidence and weaves together an understanding of pain science, the nervous system, movement, and the very real impact that thoughts, stress, identity and environment have on how we feel and function. Rather than chasing a single diagnosis or a quick fix, I work with you to build a picture of what's driving your symptoms and what meaningful progress looks like for you.

Throughout my career I have led multidisciplinary (MDt) teams - working alongside clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, dietitians and medical specialists to coordinate integrated care for people with complex needs. I have presented on MDT rehabilitation models nationally and internationally, and I continue to contribute to the next generation of physiotherapists as a Clinical Educator at the Curtin Physiotherapy Clinic and have experience as a guest lecturer at Curtin University, the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University.

At Pearce Health, you'll always be treated as a whole person - not a set of symptoms to be managed.
